Leongatha mushroom cook Erin Patterson faces murder charges

Victoria homicide detectives have arrested Erin Patterson who allegedly cooked a meal with poisonous mushrooms

The woman accused of murdering three people in an alleged death cap mushroom poisoning faced court on November 3.

Erin Patterson appeared before Latrobe Magistrates' Court in Victoria's south-east and was remanded to reappear in court in May 2024.

Police requested a 20 week adjournment to analyse computer equipment seized from Patterson's home on November 2.

Patterson was charged with three counts of murder and five counts of attempted murder on November 2 after the deaths of three people on July 29, 2023.

Gail and Don Patterson as well as Gail's sister Heather Wilkinson died in August after allegedly ingesting a fatal meal cooked with poisonous death cap mushrooms.

Mrs Wilkinson's husband Korumburra pastor Ian Wilkinson survived the meal and left hospital in September after weeks in a coma.

Police said the further three attempted murder charges relate to three separate incidents in Victoria between 2021-2022.
